Subscription is not sending emails (NW 7.3)

Hallo community,

 

subscription usage is increasing, so it needs to be available in our new portal, too. As with the KM search, I got it running... almost.

 

 

My problem:

I don't get emails, when subscribed content is changed.

 

This document was great: KM Subscription Configuration - Best Practices

Still, no emails.

 

Two comments

  1. I see the subscription notifications in my universal work list. So theoretically they are working.
  2. I can use the "Send to"-function, so the portal CAN send emails to me.

 

 

My question:

What did I miss? How can I get the portal to send me those subscription emails?

 

It's driving me nuts. Has somebody an idea of what's missing?

Query documents on BI Portal by default created against same SAP ID

Hi Expert,

 

We have integrated our BI Portal with SAP BW and integration and SSO is working fine for the same.Now we are facing the problem when any user is creating a query document or modifying the query document it is being updated by one single user SAP ID and that single user SAP ID belongs to Head of BW team.This is happening in our production environment where all the query document is being created or modified by one single user SAPID.

 

 

Please help us to rectify this issue.

file does not begin with '%Pdf-'

Hi!!

After uploading a pdf document on our portal, we many times get an error, file does not begin with '%Pdf-'  whenever, one tries to open it. Could you please suggest some remedy for it.

Hi experts,

 

I have a problem with the portal in my system. Before, it worked fine now, when I log in the portal appear this error in the iviews:

Runtime Error

An exception occured while processing the request.

The step before of this error was change the system landscape "ceramica" and delete the alias name "netweaver" for configure a new.

After, we restart the part java and appear the error.

 

I look for notes, and i find a note that indicates upgrade the system, i do it and now i have the last service pack, SP18; but it continue with the error.

 

What happend?

Microsoft office 2010 documents not opening

hi ,

 

We have serverl users who have microsoft office 2010 installed on their machine. When they try to access any document they receive a pop- up.

"Access to this web server is disabled by default because it is controlled by basic authentication and does not support SSL".

 

can any oneconfirm that we have to enable SSL on our portal server to resolve this issue.

Limited subject characters count when creating a new thread in Portal 7.3 forums

Hello,

 

i was wondering if and how you can change the max. characters for the subject when creating a new thread in Portal 7.3 forums.

 

It seems like the character count is limited to 75 characters for subjects.

 

I didn't find any suitable property, in the forums admin console, for that issue.

Can anyone confirm if KMC is available on mobile devices?

We are migrating to SAP NW Portal 7.4 SP5 and need a confirmation on this.

 

If the answer to above question is yes, where can I find complete documentation for enabling KMC on mobile devices?

How to create new INDEX for TREX

Hello Experts,

 

Iam new to this KM and TREX so need ur guidance for this...

 

I need to create an INDEX for TREX, so after going through various messages i found that it can be created form the Index Administration iView portal----System Administration -> Syetm Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration -> New Index

 

But iam not getting the above path in SPRO OR how to run Index Administration iView OR from which portal i need to create an INDEX??can anyone provide steps on how to go to System Administration -> Syetm Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration -> New Index

TREX error - cannot create index error code 7262

Hi experts,

I am trying to create a index in sap portal 7.3 , our trex is 7.1.

i am gettting an error, "Index could not be created, creating index failed: cannot send xml request to http://xyz:30105/TREX, reason: A remote host  did not respond within the timeout period. (Error code 7262)"

 

Please let me know how to resolve this error.

Not getting subscription option in the settings menu of any folder

Hi Experts,

 

We are using SAP NW 7.3. We are facing issue with subscription option which
is available under settings menu ( it comes when we check the details of any
folder under the KM).

 

The issue is, some end users are not getting subscription option in the
settings menu. Could you please help us in finding the missing authorization?

Not able to see latest text in XML Edit Form

Dear All,

 

I am facing the issue in XML forms.

1) I open an Edit Form and enter the title, Description and News text then save it. when i click on the show form, it's working fine as well able to see title, Description and News text.

2) Again I have edited that same form and add the extra text to description, News text then saved it. When i click on the show form, it's working fine as well able to see title, Description and News text.

3) 3rd time when i edit the same form, didn't see the extra text in Edit form. but able to see in show from.

 

Please find the attachment for easy understand.

 

Can you tell me the solution.

Problem with archive Invalid RID: No repository manager found for prefix: /archiviazione_fatture

Hello,

I'm trying to configurig archiving .

 

this is the step that I do:

 

  • System Admin roles to my user

 

  • Activate  Archiving Global Service

 

  • Create and configure a file system repository manager, choose Content Management → Repository Managers → File System Repository

  • Create a network path, choose System Administration → System Configuration → Knowledge Management → Content Management → Global Services → Network Paths → Network path.

  • Create and configure an archiving file system repository manager.  System Administration  →  System Configuration → Content Management → Repository Managers  →Archiving File System Repository Manager

How to connect WebDav URL in Windows 7 to a Folder of KM.

Hi,

 

I have EP 7.0 SP 21.

 

When I tried to map a network drive in Windows Explorer  to the WEBDAV URL of the Portal , don´t accept the URL. It said the folder is not valid. I know are problem with WebDAV in Windows 7. but not are a solution to this yet.

Importing KM configurations from Portal 6.40 to 7.40.

Hi experts,

 

We are importing KM configurations from Portal 6.40 to another Portal 7.40.

 

When we have imported the custom Property Groups and Property Structures, all KM folders in EP 7.40 have lost the standard Property Groups (System, Custom, Rendering, Miscellaneous, Access Links).

 

Have we done something wrong to import KM configurations between different versions?

Disable Printing and Download

Hello All,

 

We have a requirement wherein we meed to restrict printing of KM documents.

1)How to disable printing of documents in a given folder.

2)Disable the option to save the document on desktop.However the user should be able to read it but not save it.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

WPC Problem after creation of new Site - no "Edit Page" Link available

Hello,

I have a problem with WebPageComposer (WPC) and Edit Page link.

We are currently on EP 7.01 SP6.

(I have the wpc_editor_role for my user)

 

I am doing the following:

1) I create a new site, (derived permissions for all folders is wpc_editor_role - Full Control),

2) I Create some article within its Site Content folder

3) I create a new web page in its Web Pages folder

4) assign the article to the web page and publish it

5) add web page within Site Navigation as a new node

6) I used Publish Site Navigation

 

After clicking on the web page within Web Pages folder it does a preview.

Our older WPC content does display the Edit Page link - the new one does not.

 

What step am I missing here?

Maybe it is an upgrade issue?

P.S.: copying one of our older WPC pages into my new site + renaming it via KM + removing old content + assigning new one does display the correct link after publishing it! Any indeas?
