How to configure collaboration services in portal??

I am new to the collaboration stuff, i have standard collaboration requirement where the user has to create the room and chat with other employees.

I have followed the below link to do collaboration minimal configuration

What are the basic things i need to check that collaboration is configured or not??

How to crate create room and provide chat functionality??(Can i copy the standard room creation iview to my custom role)
