Prompt for username/password with Office 2010

Hi,

 

when we open KM documents in Office 2010 we get a prompt for username and password.

I remember that i had the same issue a few years ago with a office version, but i don´t know how i fixed it.

This time the content is called within citrix, so it is possible that e.g. registry values are not set, that fixed the problem locally a few years ago...

The strange thing is that this only happens when opening a document for reading, if i use "edit locally" username/password are not prompted.

 

Could anyone give me a solution for this?

I read  The specified item was not found., but it is from 2005 so I don´t think it should be relevant today, or am I wrong?

 

Our KM version is 7.00 SP16

File does not begin with ‘%PDF-‘

Hi All,

 

I've uploaded few pdfs file into the KM. However, when some users launching the pdf file the browser instance appears with nothing in it and Adobe Acrobat loads with a pop up stating File does not begin with '%PDF-'.

 

Anyone has the solution to this problem?

Parameter tab in Report

Hi,

 

When I click on the tools of the Reports in KM content, I do see only Scope tab for the start report. I am unable to find the Parameter tab.

Please can anyone let me know how to enable this.

KM Content Export/Import

Hello,

 

Version 7.00 SP16

 

I need to transport KM resources with their GUIDs from our DEV to QA manually but i'm having trouble with the Pending Imports iView "Content Administration/KM Content/Import/Pending Imports" in our QA system.

 

At first i did not have the pending imports layoutset, it was showing me the folder in consumerexplorer "I still don't why because both Dev/QA have the same versions/setup". I was missing some KM config for the com.sap.netweaver.kmc.expimp File System Repository Manager and the ExpImp* Flex UI components. I transported the missing objects from Dev to QA and restarted the system.

 

I now have the Pending Imports iView but after i upload a .kmc transport package successfully and go the pending imports iView, i don't see any entry. if i try to re-upload the package, it tells me that one already exist with that ID, If i browse to /com.sap.netweaver.kmc.expimp/expimp/import/pending i can see the transport package in question but the folder /~system/expimp/import/pending which the Pending Imports iView points to is empty.

 

The transport package is in .kmc and not zip formats. I can transport via ICE and WebDav but both methods do not transport the GUIDs which is what i need.

 

I'm running out of ideas and don't know why it's not working. Hopefully someone here has the solution.

Hi!!

After uploading a pdf document on our portal, we many times get an error, file does not begin with '%Pdf-'  whenever, one tries to open it. Could you please suggest some remedy for it.

Integrating Documents from a Windows System into KM

Hi Experts,

 

I need to integrate a windows share folder to our KM, and I followed the sap instructions ( Integrating Documents from a Windows System into KM - Knowledge Management - SAP Library).

In particulary we need to have two different kind of access to that folder, one with read permission and one with FullControl

 

  1. We created a new share folder and we set User1 (read permission) and User2 (Full Control)
  2. In SAP EP we created a System Administrator > System Configuration > Content Management > Global Services > Network Path with the sharing path and User1 credential.
  3. Under System Administrator > System Configuration > Content Management > Global Services > System Landscape Definitions > Systems > Windows system we created a new system called mySystem
  4. Under System Administrator > System Configuration > System Landscape we create a new Km Windows System with alias mySystem.
  5. Under System Administrator > System Configuration > Content Management > Repository Managers > File System Repository we create a new file system with:
    • Root directory = as declared in Network Path configuration
    • Security Mager = W2kSecurityManager
    • Windows Landscape System = "mySystem" (as configured as alias into System Landscape)
  6. As last step I mapped my user with User2 credential.

 

Results:

I found my share folder into KM but I have just read permission as User1 (used into Network Path).

Why if my user is mapped with User2 credential??

 

Am I missing smoething??

How to clear "Application Log"

Hi,

 

How can I clear the "Appliction Log" in "Systemadministration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management"?

 

There are so many entries that it takes too long until the view is loaded.

 

I don´t want just to filter the application log using "Options", I want to delete the entries.

Acrobat reader error-"file does not begin with %PDF"

Hi all,

 

           I uploaded some pdfs from my local system to the KM \documents of the portal.

          When i try to open the pdf from the KM , the "File does not begin with %PDF" error is coming.

           I am able to open all of those from my local system , but when i tried to open from KM this error appears.

KM Scheduler Task in 7.4

Hi All,

 

I am working with SAP Netweaver 7.4 SP04.  I want to create KM Scheduler Task to execute some of the KM functionalities on the predefined interval.  I came across Scheduler Jobs & Tasks (Developing and Scheduling Jobs -  Using Central Development Services - SAP Library) looks different to me.

 

Kindly show some light for developing KM Scheduler Task in 7.4.  Please refer the attached screenshot for your information.

Adding more Mimetypes for TREX indexing

Hi,

 

we are using TREX for indexing DMS-Documents. We need to index some more filetypes (like *.msg-Files).

I read in some postings that these settings can be done in portal-settings. But we are not connected to portal with this trex-server.

How can i add more mimetypes without portal?

I am new to KM, and i have a requirement to create a document in KM of 7.0 from a web dynpro java application developed in NWDS 7.1 CE. I know i can use RepositoryFrameworkWS web service to achive this. But I need some help to start with it.

So it would be of great help, if i am provided with some Documents,  Code snippets or links regarding this.

KMC Plug-in for NWDS 7.3

According to OSS Note1572813 the KMC Plugin for NWDS 7.3 is deliverd separatelly. The link provided by SAP for downloading the plugin does not work. Would you please help me find a way to download this plug-in?

Adding Feedbacks, Notes and Comments

I have 2 questions to be answered:

 

1. We are using RepositoryFrameworkWS and IndexManagementWS web services in order to manage documents in Knowledge Management system.

We can add document by using createDocument method of RepositoryFrameworkWS web service.

Buy we cannot find how to add feedbacks, notes and comments by these web services. We couldn't find any method in webservice related to do this.

 

2. We can add document by using createDocument method of RepositoryFrameworkWS web service. But we don't know what to set to parentCollectionRid property. Is there a way to find parentCollectionRid by path?

 

 

By the way, we are using Visual studio 2013 for development enviroment.

Modify Tag of WPC Layout Templates

Hi experts,

 

I've created a custom web page layout for WPC which is working fine so far. However, I have to execute some javascript "onload" of the page. Furthermore I want to remove the automatically added css classes (prtlBody urFontBaseFam urScrl) for this. Is there a way to access and modify the html body tag which is (I think) generated by the lyt:template tag?

Modifiers in Collection List Renderer to display word wrapping

Hello

 

Is it possible to display the folder/files description in word wrap mode?

 

I set the parameter "rndVisibleProperties" with the following value: rnd:image(alignLeft/contentLink/alignBaseline), rnd:displayname(contentLink/[2;1])+rnd:action, rnd:description(alignLeft/maxChars=7).

Thereby the folder/file description is displayed normally in no word wrap mode.

I tryed also "rnd:description(alignLeft/wrapping/maxChars=7)" but it doesn't work.

Is there a valid modifier or an other solution to solve my problem?
