How to disable Navigation user interface?

$

0

I want to disable Navigation interface in a particular case:

I'm using com.sap.km.cm.docs component to display some html files. The problem is that if user deletes the html file from url, EP ask the user if they want to use the navigation component.

for instance:

URL for document: "http://server:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/folder/page.html"

if user enters "http://server:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/folder/" without the html file, EP ask if the user wants to use navigation user interface with the following error message:

<b>The folder you are looking for has no displayable content.

You can try one of the following:

Access the folder using the Navigation user interface (link to com.sap.km.cm.navigation component).

Access the folder as a Web folder. Your operating system and browser dictate whether or not this will work</b>

In this case, if the user clicks on Navigation user interface icon, EP shows a list of all folders... That's what I want to disable...

any ideas?

tks,

Marcelo

Trex supported file types - eml, rar

$

Dear all,

Does anyone know if the file types eml and rar are supported by TREX?

The eml file type is listed in the Help Library page

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/46/c5e63c66670e5ce10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm.

The suggested MIME type is text/plain. However if I set this MIME type only the subject of the eml file is searched

and not the content. If I set the eml MIME type to application/vnd.ms-outlook it works fine. Is this configuration correct?

The rar file type is not listed in the Help Library. Does this mean that it is not supported?

I am developing a KM service (implementing the interface ISchedulerTask) and my problem is that the server cached classes,

so that for each test I need to restart the application server.

Is there any way to restart this service only?

My system is a Portal 7.01 (EP7 with EHP1)

400 Session timed out - please log in again

Hi experts,

after upgrading our E-Recruiting to 7.4, we are faced with a strange behavior of our NetWeaver Portal (7.02):

When you open a WD4A-Application via Portal, the application is started correctly. But if you open the application again (second time), you receive an error-page, which says "400 Session timed out - please log in again".

BUT, it just keeps getting better!!! When you navigate again to the application (third time), everything works fine. Fourth time, you get the error page again (and so on...)

So, what the hell is going on here?!? HTTP-Trace shows nothing special....

Prompt for username/password with Office 2010

Hi,

when we open KM documents in Office 2010 we get a prompt for username and password.

I remember that i had the same issue a few years ago with a office version, but i don´t know how i fixed it.

This time the content is called within citrix, so it is possible that e.g. registry values are not set, that fixed the problem locally a few years ago...

The strange thing is that this only happens when opening a document for reading, if i use "edit locally" username/password are not prompted.

Could anyone give me a solution for this?

I read  The specified item was not found., but it is from 2005 so I don´t think it should be relevant today, or am I wrong?

Our KM version is 7.00 SP16

Thanks

Permissions Issue with displaying WPC web page

$

Hi All (and Eric Heilers!)

I created and published a web page using web page composer. I added the web page to an iView and in turn the iView to a role. I assigned the role to myself and I was successfully able to see the Web Page....all was well.

Next I created a new test user and assigned a bunch of roles to a user group (one of the roles contained the web page iview). The role doesn't render the web page inside of the iView for the test user. I have given the test user Read/Write and also resorted to giving the user Owner permissions in almost everything but still I cannot render the web page!! I have tried permission in Security Zones in page builder (no_safety, and medium_safety), i have tried in, Portal Content Directory and also tried adding the test user full control permission from within the Web Page Composer role at the web site owner level. Still nothing. At best I was able to render the little toolbar which contains 'Edit" and 'RSS Feed' options on the top right, but not the web page itself.

Any helpful hints, suggestions, tips greatly welcome.

Kind regards,

Tony.

How to display creation date for a WPC article?

Hi SCN!

I have created several articles with Web Page Composer, saving them into Global Shared Content repository, and finally displaying them in some pages.

I've modified XSL file to display them accordingly to customer requirements. So far, so good.

However, I don't have found until now how to display either the creation date or modification date for every article. Is there any way to get these data from article file itself? Some property perhaps?

I thought that it could be done by using some XSTL Helper, but no luck

Thanks in advance.

Context Menu disappeared after EP7 upgrade

Hi all,

We've recently upgraded our sandbox and dev portals to EP7. Since then, we've noticed that in KM, the context menus that should be located to the right of the files/folders is missing. Actually, it would be more appropriate to say that they're invisible rather than missing because if I hover my mouse over the area where it should be, the mouse pointer changes. If I click on this area, the menu comes up.

Has anyone seen this problem before? What do I need to do to fix it?

Thanks!

TREX 6.1 : Indexing failed with error message 8010

Hi All,

We are using SAP EP 6.0 SP14, a separate TREX 6.1.09.00 and a separate Repsository Server for our Production Server in Linux.

I have created different repositories in fsdb mode and have uploaded documents into the repository server.

When i tried indexing these repositories, the indexing is happening. However, only folders and text files are indexed. Rest of the files which includes word documents, excel files etc.. are not indexed.

Since most of the documents of the repository are of word docs and excel files, the entire indexing process shows "Red" status with all errors.

I checked out with TREXValidMimeTypes.ini  file with regard to the valid Mime types and there is no mistake in the same.

<b>The status of the failed documents from TREX Admin Tool:

Document state : Preprocessing Failed

Error Number :8010

Error Msg : Creating Connection Failed</b>

Kindly help with a solution at the earliest as we are going live soon.

Thanks in advance,

External KMC Repository with versioning?

$

Hi there,

I am searching for a solution for a specific versioning requirement in KMC (Portal 7.4)

* Repository should support versioning with Check in / check out

* underlying storage not in portal DB but in a filesystem (very very large amount of data planned)

Possible solutions:

1. standard CM repository manager won't work: Versioning - but uses portal DB

2. file system repository manager with windows file share won't work: No versioning

3. WebDAV repository manager might work: Versioning works if the connected WebDAV server supports versioning

3.a Microsoft IIS as WebDAV server does not support versioning

3.b May be a subversion server can serve as a WevDAV server with versioning support

Question:

Is 3.b a possible solution?

Are there any other possible solutions?

Best regards

Web Page Composer (WPC) RSS feeds issue with Outlook

We are using Web Page Composer (WPC) Netweaver 7.0 SP25.  I have a secured website that uses Kerberos for single signon.

I cannot get RSS feeds to work with Outlook for my WPC pages.  I can set up the feed in Outlook.  However, when I update the web page information I do not get an email update in Outlook notifying me of the change.  The feed data never updates in Outlook.

Has any one had any success with getting the feeds alert from WPC to work in Outlook?  My external feeds from websites such as CNN and Weather.com work fine.  It is just the RSS feeds from my SAP portal that I cannot seem to get notifications on in Outlook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

WPC Authoring Permission

Hi Folks,

We are working on SAP Netweaver 7.4 Portal.  We have followed the below SAP Help Link to configure WPC Area permissions.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/ce/38306634fe48ea95b2e1010cdad8a7/content.htm

We are able to achieve the Permission restriction in Content Editor Page where as in Content Library we are not.

For e.g.

Area Management -> Content Editor -> Staging Area (Read access to Everyone Group).

Staging Area -> WPC Area1 (Author permission to WPCAreaUMEGroup1 & Everyone Group Read)

Staging Area -> WPC Area2 (Author permission to WPCAreaUMEGroup2 & Everyone Group Read)

To allow only the appropriate author group should create the area/page/articles. Achieved successfully the expected results in the Content Editor.

In case of Content Library, we are not able to restrict the Users in creating Articles on the same area as well as on the other Areas.

Please help us in this regard.

I am not sure what to put for column 'Document Area' at tcode oac0.

The requirement is storing third party's attachment(assume is PDF) to content server's database to reduce the load on ERP's database

External Basis has installed the DMS server, so my Storage Type is HTTP Content server. I have all the server info ( version no, port number, http server, http script , etc )

Problem is with Document Area,

what are the difference for these three options under Document area?

1. Document Management System
2. ArchiveLink
3. empty

Appreciate any feedback
