Hi I need to activate lifetime on a whole folder structure. It seems like that its only possible to activate this feature per folder and not recursively. Can this be true or is there some kind of a work around?

file does not begin with '%Pdf-'
Hi!!
After uploading a pdf document on our portal, we many times get an error, file does not begin with '%Pdf-' whenever, one tries to open it. Could you please suggest some remedy for it.

Portal/KM icons not displaying when accessing portal using different URL..
Hi,
We are using Siteminder to access the portal. So while accessing the portal we are using a diiferent url and once the user gets authenticated he can login to the portal.
Now while using siteminder url, none of the portal/KM icons are displaing and showing a X. While accessing the portal using normal portal url all the icons are displaying fine.
If we check the property of the icons while accessing through normal portal url in which the icons are dsplaying, its showing http://<server>:<port>/irj/go/km/docs/etc/public/mimes/images/standard_folder.gif
But while accessing using siteminder url in which the icons are not displaying, its showing
http://<siteminder url>/irj/go/km/docs/etc/public/mimes/images/s_s_ledr.gif
Any suggestion what might be the reason. What needs to be done for icons while accessing using a different url.

Prompt for username/password with Office 2010
Hi,
when we open KM documents in Office 2010 we get a prompt for username and password.
I remember that i had the same issue a few years ago with a office version, but i don´t know how i fixed it.
This time the content is called within citrix, so it is possible that e.g. registry values are not set, that fixed the problem locally a few years ago...
The strange thing is that this only happens when opening a document for reading, if i use "edit locally" username/password are not prompted.
Could anyone give me a solution for this?
I read The specified item was not found., but it is from 2005 so I don´t think it should be relevant today, or am I wrong?
Our KM version is 7.00 SP16

WPC 7.3 Exception caught during event invocation
Hi ,
After creation of new page under staging area, when i trying to add the content of the page, selecting the content in the combo box and click on the edit button, showing Error message "Exception caught during event invocation" all the other properties can able to change the properties(General Properties,Advanced Properties etc) of the page.Please see the attached screen shot WPC Error.jpg

CS ADMIN - Content repository
Hi All,
I have created an content repository in the name of 09 and tested the connection was successfull,
but when i click the cs admin ,there the content repository status is running but in the
bottom tab i am getting an information message

TREX Index Problem:
Hello Everyone,
I have a problem with my TREX indexing. Please read below & advise:
1. Created a new index in index administration.
2. Selected crawler as standard, search as TREX Search and assigned a datasource as /documents/Mydocuments
3. Also entered a system ID for the Indexmanagement Taskqueue Reader Task.
When I look at the Index Monitor, I can see that the index has a green light with Active status,
In Process:23, Indexed:0
When I look at the queue:
Queue status: Idle
To Be Synchronized: 23 - It just waits in this state.
I tried flushing the queues and re-starting the services, but to no avail...
Any thoughts on what needs to be done to start the indexing process and fix my search?

I am trying to create an application for creating folders in KM dynamicall by following the
two blogs.

I have added all the jar files required (Given in the blog) from the server to the build path
and added PORTAL:sap.com/com.sap.km.application in the sharing references of webdynpro refernces.
But it is giving me the error "The method getInstance() is undefined for the type ResourceFactory" in the desing time.

RID rid = RID.getRID("/documents");
ICollection parent = (ICollection) ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(rid,context);
Could you suggest me the reason and solution for this error.

TREX error - Code 6401
Hi all,
While indexing my KM documents i receive the following errors (on 410 files):

I've tried applying the note 650521 (add the entry unescape_url= no into the httpclient section of the TREXPreprocessor.ini) but that didn't help.
The other (thoused of) documents are indexed OK.

How to connect WebDav URL in Windows 7 to a Folder of KM.
Hi,
I have EP 7.0 SP 21.
When I tried to map a network drive in Windows Explorer to the WEBDAV URL of the Portal , don´t accept the URL. It said the folder is not valid. I know are problem with WebDAV in Windows 7. but not are a solution to this yet.

TREX Preprocessor Error
Good day,
I have installed TREX 7 and since the new installation I am getting a preprocessor error, it seems like it can't find the <%hostname%> but I have no idea what the reason for this could be.

Duplicate default:modified & rendererd wth "lastmodified" Property Rend.?
I try to create a new property said name new_modified which is the duplication of the property metadata - default:modiifed (cm_modified).
The only thing I change in the new property - new_,modified is switching the Type from "TimeStamp" to "Date". This work fine for changing the Date format.
But here is the problem:
Initially, I thought the "lastmodified" property renderer will automatically assign the current date value to the new_modified property (when I assign this property to a km resource/document, open & edit the document).
I decoded the source of lastmodified property renderer:
com.sapportals.wcm.control.util.PropertyRendererLastModified.
Here is the renderProperty method:

Seems like they only assign the new modified value when the check that the property==null.
Isn't that this property renderer will set a new current Date value to new_modified property every time we edit the document?
If not, how do I set the new_modified to have the value of modified every time we edit the document.

Problem with reached maximum number of connections to database
Dear Experts,
Our Production system was not responding properly last week.
The below was the reply from the Basis team.
"It seems that we have again problem with reached maximum number of connections to database. We have extended this number to 100 this year and now it seems that it’s not enough again. It seems that something is running on Production, which takes over too many connections."
They have increased the number to 200 as a work around.
Do we have any means to find out, which component or application is causing the issue.
Please advise me if any better way is available to correct the issue.

Transport of Collaboration Room Templates
This is regarding Transport of Room Templates.
We are going to upgrade our Portal and hence are planning to transport
the custom room templates developed.As per the how To guide , we have to
export the template workset , but after this export and then import to target, the imported template does not even appear in the room templates list.
On the other hand if we import only the workset and create a template based
on this along with all room extensions, this appears to be fine. So is this
the appropriate method?
Also the howto mentions transport of CM configuration related to templates too, but we dont seem to have that option here.We are on EP6.0 SP10,KMC SP10 Patch1.
Would appreciate any help on this

Seting up Content Server and ArchiveLink
Ok, Here is the problem that I am currently dealing with. I have set up a Content Server to store files to a sapDB (not file system). I am trying to have purchase orders moved into the Content Server. I defined a content server:
from TCode OAC0:
ZT ARCHLINK HTTP content server 0046 Content Server Test
from TCode OAC3:
EKKO MEOORDER X ZT TOA01 0
in TCode OAC3 I am only able to choose ZT if I set ZT to Document Area "Archivelink". But when I choose this it makes me choose a directory and as I mentioned I set up the content server to save files to DB (not file storage). Can anyone please assist me in what settings I have incorrect? Also I looked up the PO information and it says something about Object Type BUS2012... not EKKO. Do I have to set up this object type?
Basically when I change the Document Area to "Archivelink" it makes me use a file... when I choose "Archivelink: Print List Manager" or "Archivelink: Document management" it does not force me to have a file path.
Well... after re-reading it I can see I am very confused. Any help understanding the process or any advise would be greatly appreciated.
