After uploading a pdf document on our portal, we many times get an error, file does not begin with '%Pdf-' whenever, one tries to open it. Could you please suggest some remedy for it.

KMC Plug-in for NWDS 7.3

According to OSS Note1572813 the KMC Plugin for NWDS 7.3 is deliverd separatelly. The link provided by SAP for downloading the plugin does not work. Would you please help me find a way to download this plug-in?

Searching: Hiding Select Documents from Searches
I am been tasked to find a way in Knowledge Management to hide select documents from searches. We would like them is specific folder locations in KM but not visible in search results. Is this possible? Can this be done where specific metadata excludes documents from returned search results.

KM document iview with HTML content not showing pictures
Hello Experts,
I am currently working on integrating a HTML page into the portal. As it is just a static page the decision was made to implement it via KM. Now when I create a "KM documents iView (w/o filter)" and point the path to the HTML file in the KM it is displaying the file, but not the images, which are stored in a folder structure below.
But when previewing the HTML file directly it shows up just fine.
Can anyone advise?

Problem opening the file formats .xlsx and .docx
Hi All,
I am facing the critical issue in KM. In KM content there are some files with the extensions as .xlsx and .docx, When we are downloading having problems in IE with .xlsx and .docx formats, they are being downloaded as zip files.
Could anybody please help to resolve the issue, do we need to do any configurations in KM.

I have a Application Made no SAP web dynpro java, ESSA Application Download hum file that is located not DMS .

File System Repository Manager
The Portal is on HP - AIX
The file share is on Windows XP.
I created a KM Windows system and entered the user mapping from my portal user to the remote Windows XP machine user
I created a File Sytem Repository manager with the following properties:
Root Directory: //<ip address>/Shared folder
Security Manager: W2KSecurityManager
ACL manager cache: ca_rsrc_acl
Windows landscape system: the alias of the previously defined system
Now in the Component Monitor -> Repository Managers, I see the new repository red
But the constituents: Filters, resource event broker and services all green
The mountinfo is missing.
In the logs I get:

Implementing Customer Reports Using the KM Reporting API in 7.3
Hello All,
I have used following instructions to create a custom report in Netweaver 7.0:
We upgraded our sandbox to 7.3. In 7.3 the existing custom reports are not working anymore.
I imported the reports into NWDS 7.3 and deployed the ear file to portal, yet, it is still not working.
In KM Reports I am seeing the name of the report under the reports tree but there is no content/configuration.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?

Portal Drive displays junk characters for the collaboration room
Hi Experts,
We are trying to connect the KM Collaboration room which resides in the KM DB via the portal drive.
The room name shows as junk characters in the windows explorer view of the portal drive connection.
Can any one help how can we get the actual name there?

As the content server is needed to define content repositories for content model,can we use the SAP EP server as a content server?
As the SAP EP server has the KM(content management capability), can we use the same portal server as content server for FLM in creating content repositories?

Hi,
I am having problens with TREX Index Server cause the service is <b>Not Available</b>. On the other hand, all the services HTTP Server, Name Server and Queue Server are Available.
Consequently is not possible to Reindex the documents. Does anybody know what I should do to solve this issue?

Windows 7 and Portaldive
Hi experts,
I have windows 7 installed on my device and wanted to install the portal drive (EP7.0 SP16). I could install it, but...that's it. I can't start the program! Does anyone know, how I can get this to work with windows 7.
I also have tried the compatible mode (XP SP 2 and XP SP3) in windows 7, but that doesn't work. Does anyone know if I need to enable something in the security options? I have run this program (portal drive) with admin rights, so I don't think that's the problem :/.

How to Remove "Send travel Request for Back" Button in UWL

In ESS-WDA Business Travel Approval Request ,I want to delete the Decision button in UWL for Workflow Task -TS20000118.I have enabled the Support information it is referring to UWL.Standard in the Current View information.But I didn't see any task number in UWL Standard xml file.Currently we using this xml file -uwl_com_sap_pct_erp_mss_tra_14.zip .It has the task no TS20000118 and i have removed Send back trip for corrections Action in Item Type and also removed "SendBack" from View also.But no luck.

portal news channels - howto?
Hi!
I havent worked with KM for quite some time - and therefore i am quite "rusty" - so please bear over with me 
.
I have a requirement for what i think should be quite simple.
I need to be able to publish "news" ie. status updates / service windows etc. incl. attachments to the news.
Theese news should be routed to 4 different recievers.
not nesecary the same recievers.
ie. managers should be able to read some news - while emplyees should be able to read another type etc.
what would be the easiest way to achieve this?

clear TREX query cache
Hi all,
I'm stuck on this problem: I'm adding a document to a Trex search index using KM API (Web Dynpro for Java app). The document is processed & added to the index. So far so good.
The problem is that when I do a search on that index (I search for ''), the document won't show up because the query results of the previous search for '' on my index seem to be cached somewhere. When I wait for 10 mins (cache expires?) or when restart my Web Dynpro app (so the user needs to login again), the document is found.
How can I clear/disable the trex query cache?

PS: clicking on the 'clear cache' button in Search and Classification Cache Administration (TREX monitor) is not working. The cache that is pestering me seems to be a session-specific query cache.

The short URL for an iview object is not listed under System admin. How to retrieve the short URL of an iview.
Hi all,
Our Portal version : 7.02
I need to retrieve the 'Short URL' of an iview assigned to a role.
I followed some sap posts which directed me as,
Step 1: System administration--> Navigation-->short URL
Step 2: Search with the particular PCD location of the required iview to find its short URL,
But somehow when I searched the the pcd location, no values are fetched,
Is there any pre-workouts required before we try retrieve short URLs from system admin?
