Which Document Area when creating content repository oac0

hi all,

 

I am not sure what to put for column 'Document Area' at tcode oac0.

The requirement is storing third party's attachment(assume is PDF) to content server's database to reduce the load on ERP's database

 

External Basis has installed the DMS server, so my Storage Type is HTTP Content server. I have all the server info ( version no, port number, http server, http script , etc )


Problem is with Document Area,

what are the difference for these three options under Document area?

 

1. Document Management System
2. ArchiveLink
3. empty

Error message "virtuelle Directory"

Hallo Experts,

 

we want to use Netweaver Portal Collaboration for communication and resource managment.

 

For activation this enviroment, I used  manual "Enabling User Collaboration"

I want create a connection to Exchange via WebDav Transport. The "System" with "Transport" are created and

Calendar repository is configured. Sending of mail is possible without problems.

 

But when I check my availibility in Portal head "Collaboration", then I get following error message:

 

"Das im Transport angegebene virtuelle Verzeichnis ist nicht korrekt"

 

Now I'am not sure, where is this virtuelle directory to configure? It's into NW Portal, or in Exchange system?

I use the virtuelle folder name: /Calendar.

 

Where can I looking for solving this problem?

After upgrade WPC content is giving error as below

When i tried to create new page and drag and drop paragraph or article into my page it is giving Could not run this iview error

 

And in default trace it is giving error as "web content type  does not exist"

TREX Error

Hi All,

We are running EP6.0 SP10 and have some issues with TREX. It was working earlier, but as of now I am only able to view the status of the HTTP Server and the Name Server. The Index Server and the Queue Server status is missing. Also the HTTP Server status is Red. I have checked the TREX service and it is running. Is there any step that needs to be done to activate the HTTP server and the others?

Please advise.

anonymous search in KM folder

Hi Folks,

This is my first post.

 

I have a EP62,Patch 28 where we have anonymous login to an internet site(portal). The user shall be able to do a product search using Trex. The trex is indexed and works.

 

The problem is when the anonymous user does a search it gets promted for a logon. If i log in with my admin then the search progresses and everything is ok.

 

I guess this is a permission issue, i have also heard that Km has issues with the anonumous user (?).

 

Question: How can i make the anonymous user do a search at a km folder without any logon promt popping up?

How to add Iview & Article in a web Page of Web Page Composer ?

Hello,

 

A.

 

I have created a KM NAvigation Iview in Portal & Also Created WEB Page in Web PAge Composer.

Now, I want to add this IView to a web PAge.

All necessary configurations are Done with PCD as i can see PCD Folder into KM Contents.

 

Please guide me how I can Add Iview in to web PAge as I couldnt find any option Under New -> [for Iview] ?

How I can get access to PCD in webPAge Composer ?B.

 

I have an Article created in a Site Content Folder but i am not able to find any way to add this article to a web page.

Drag-Drop doesnt work for Article & Also Its not listed in the web Page Content Area.

How can I add Article in webPAge then ?

Setting up a web repository

Can somebody point me to guide on  setting up a Web Repository and

Crawling it for Indexing. I am in portal <b>EP 6 SP14</b>. I am unsuccessful in bringing a website associated with the repository.

dynamic navigation

Hi

 

I have an iview from BW that generates links to reports. I associated this iview to a page as a dynamic navigation link.

 

When I click on the link, it does not load the content in the portal content area. I tried _self, _top, _parent as the targets in the BW web template.

 

How can I get the content loaded in the portal content area? What is the name of the portal content area frame?

Javascript error throws the portal theme configuration page

General Description: Javascript error and jump to the portal theme

configuration page

 

EP: NW04s SP12 including KMC

 

We have a problem when we entry to the portal, a javascript

error happens and immediately jumps to the portal theme configuration

page. We entry at the portal with a user that have assigned the next groups.

When we entry with this user, the browser show us this javascript error:

And immediately show the portal theme configuration page.

 

We need that the user see the page assigned, but this error shows him

always the portal theme configuration page. This kind of error happens with

other roles too. We've found a workaround

for this situation, doing click on the first level navigation, the

LR_MX_PAG_Edicion page shows normally.

1. I am trying to add an article in the web page and I have followed the same way of dragging a banner to the container from the web content browser and I am unable to do the same for articles ??

can somebody help me ?????

 

2. how do you add the portal iview to the containers from the web content browser ???

Image gallery in SAP EP

Hi folks,

 

I'd like to receive some comments on the topic "Image gallery in SAP EP" as quite often there is a need for storing content in form of images in the KM and the standard renderers available do not satisfy advanced scenarios or non-SAP standard environments.

 

As there is heaps of image gallery libraries around for usage in standard web pages and open portals - mostly based on Java or Javascript - I wonder if these can be easily used within SAP EP.

 

So my question: Did anyone integrate a free image gallery software into SAP EP and are there any drawbacks/experiences or remarks you might want to share with me?!

 

The gallery should sport thumbnails previews, tagging, additional attributes, convenience functions (mass-renaming, mass-resizing), flashy previews, etc.

KM - Folder New Option not available for /etc file repository

Hello Gurus ,

 

I am trying to create a new html file in KM under root->etc file repository .

But I could not find the Folder -> New option available for this repository. But its available for other repository .

 

But I could see that it is available for other root->document repository .

So I check the Sys Admin -> KM->Content Management->File sys Repository ->etc and checked whether the repository is active .

Then check for the Permissions under Content Management->KM Content ->Toolbox->Permissions the required permission was available .

I have a super admin role as well . We have done a KM server restart still the issue is not resolved .

Need your assistance for the same .

How to activate KM Activity Report?

I need to view the KM activity report in portal. For this, I have activated the 'Activity Reporting Service' in Global Services. But I cannot see the KM activity report anywhere in the portal.

 

What should be done to view it?

KM Activity Reporting Service in SAP EP7.3

Hi All,

 

I have activated the Activity Reporting Service for a particular folder XXX inside /documents/ and i am able to get the KM Activity Trace file generated for each day. Whenever we do any action inside XXX folder ,the base file starts with name kmcActivity has a record for every event that has happen inside that folder.Whenever any user  try to Upload any file inside the XXX folder using standard Role i.e. Content Administration-->KM Content-->documents/XXX, the kmcActivity file gets an entry with UniqueID and UserID who upload the file. But the problem here is when this upload to the same folder is happening from a Custom KM Application the UniqueID and UserID values are updated as "empty" in the kmcActivity file.The document is getting uploaded successfully inside the XXX folder.In the same way i need these UserID values to be updated correctly in kmcActivity file.

 

 

Any suggestions how to resolve this?

Portal Activity Data Collector vs KM Activity Reporting Service

Hi Team,

 

I have recently had an opportunity to working on both the above Reporting Services.

 

I have noticed that both are configured separately, are separate services, but follow the similar mechanism for writing files on the file system. But after coming across a sentence over KM Activity reporting page on help.sap.com, I have been pondering over certain doubts.

 

The following parameters are used internally by the activity reporting framework. For more information about the parameters, see Activating and Configuring the Activity Data Collector.

 

  1. Are these services internally the same?
  2. Can we use the opcodes interchangeably and hence configure only one service to capture reporting data for?

Runtime Error when navigating to KM Content with SAP portal 7.3 SPS3

Hello,

 

We've istallled portal 7.3 sps3.

 

When we navigate to Content Administration > KM Content we are getting te following error immediately:

 

 

*Runtime Error

An exception occured while processing the request.

-

Additional information: com.sapportals.wdf.WdfException: Can't load Layout class: com.sapportals.wdf.layout.HorizontalLayout

Can anyone help me with this problem?

- KM Backup

Hi folks,

The company I am for working for has a folder called "Portal" inside "KM". This folder is under "documents" folder.

We need do a backup of documents and folder those are inside de "Portal" folder and this content is very important for the company. I looked for information about KM backup but didn´t find what I am exactly looking for.

Is it enough make a copy of /global/cm/etc/ and a copy /global/cm/config/  to do a KM backup?

What we have to do to backup KM and that folder called Portal?

Invalid Entry in Trex Configuration

Hi gurus,

 

We have just installed an application server and attached it to our portal system.

 

When a user logs into this application server and tries to make a search an error message is displayed:

 

"Error during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: Invalid entry in configuration: section nameserver, key address, value tcpip://<nameserverhost>:<nameserverport> is invalid (Errorcode 7213)"

 

Any suggestions?

Error during Knowledge Management startup!

Hi experts,

 

I have a problem with the portal in my system. Before, it worked fine now, when I log in the portal appear this error in the iviews:

Error during Knowledge Management startup!

Please contact your system administrator

Additional information: null

 

The step before of this error was change the system landscape "ceramica" and delete the alias name "netweaver" for configure a new.

After, we restart the part java and appear the error.

 

I look for notes, and i find a note that indicates upgrade the system, i do it and now i have the last service pack, SP18; but it continue with the error.

 

What happend?
