Unable to do "Local Editing"

I am playing with 64 bit portal (we are trying to migrate 32 bit to 64 bit system).

 

In KMC I am getting this annoying error message while doing local editing,

 

Txt Files:

 

I am not able to start Local Editing, I get the following error message

 

"The download of the document failed"

 

All other Files:

 

The Local Editing begins, but I am getting the following error message while Checking them in.

 

"A communication error occurred. <File Name> could not be uploaded."

 

I tried looking the logs but nothing is logged there (I even tried changing the Debug level).

 

Can anyone please help.

Simple question - Where are KM Documents Stored

Hi Folks,

 

             I am new to SAP EP/ KM

 

My client is looking forward to  using KM folders for storing all process documents. We want to access how much size the current system can hold.

 

Can you pelase tell me the following:

 

1) Where are KM documents stored. I mean the physical location. What is the file path. We have SAP Netweaver Portal.

 

2) How can i find the size it can hold.

400 Session timed out - please log in again

Hi experts,

 

after upgrading our E-Recruiting to 7.4, we are faced with a strange behavior of our NetWeaver Portal (7.02):

 

When you open a WD4A-Application via Portal, the application is started correctly. But if you open the application again (second time), you receive an error-page, which says "400 Session timed out - please log in again".

 

BUT, it just keeps getting better!!! When you navigate again to the application (third time), everything works fine. Fourth time, you get the error page again (and so on...)

 

So, what the hell is going on here?!? HTTP-Trace shows nothing special....

file does not begin with '%Pdf-'

Hi!!

After uploading a pdf document on our portal, we many times get an error, file does not begin with '%Pdf-'  whenever, one tries to open it. Could you please suggest some remedy for it.

Permissions on KM root folder

Hi,

 

In the portal, I have a link : http://<hostname>/irj/go/km/docs/documents/Specific Content/document.pdf which allow users to open the pdf document.

 

If the user copy the link in his explorer and changes it this way : http://<hostname>/irj/go/km/docs/, he arrives on :

 

"The folder you are looking for has no displayable content.

 

You can try one of the following:

 

Access the folder using the Navigation user interface.

Access the folder as a Web folder. Your operating system and browser dictate whether or not this will work. "

 

Now, by clicking on "Navigation user interface", he arrives in the KM root folder and can read all the directories that have permission for 'Everyone' group. I have applied OSS note : 599425 NW04/NW7.0: Permissions for KM repositories but nothing refers to permission for KM root folder.

 

Is there a way to disable this access to KM root folder for 'Everyone' users.

Problem opening the file formats .xlsx and .docx

Hi All,

 

I am facing the critical issue in KM. In KM content there are some files with the extensions as .xlsx and .docx, When we are downloading having problems in IE with .xlsx and .docx formats, they are being downloaded as zip files.

 

Could anybody please help to resolve the issue, do we need to do any configurations in KM.

Not able to edit a KM document

Hello Experts,

      We upgraded our portal (Java only) from 7.0 to 7.31.  After the upgrade all the PCD content and the KM documents are available

but we cannot edit any of the KM documents.  We can choose the "Edit Online" and can make changes to an html document

using the online editor.  But when we select "Save and Unlock", after making changes to the document, we get the following message:

 

403 Access denied

 

You do not have the permissions to access this resource

Upload of large files to KM does not work via Apache reverse proxy

Hi,

 

We exposed our SAP EP (7.0 SPS 22)  to Internet via an Apache reverse proxy (2.2.16). Unfortunately, we get the following error when trying to upload a 10 MB sized file to KM. Same problem appears also when we try to upload the par file in System Admin->Support->Administration Console...

This happens only when uploading file to SAP EP. Other applications also proxied via the same reverse proxy can upload the same file without problems.

Need to now if there is a way to get the files which have been deleted before the wastebasket service was activated.

if no way to get absolute recovery bbut atleast if i could find out which files were deleted.

KM Navigation iView customization

Hello,

 

Is there a way to manipulate ACL permissions for KM Navigation iView in NW Portal 7.4?

 

 

 

Adding some custom parameters/fields(Yes and No) to KM navigation iView and if selected yes, the iView should access content based on ACL permissions and if selected no, the it should overwrite acl-permissions and still access KM content irrespective of ACL permissions.

Enhancing Customer Reports with Commands and Parameters

Hi All,

 

I am implementing the mentioned tutorial. I have succesfully deployed the AccessStatisticApplication PAR on portal. While scheduling the report from Content Management -> Reports -> Running Reports, it is giving error "<b>Can't find bundle for base name com.sap.netweaver.km.stats.reports.DocumentAccessReport, locale en_US</b>". Has anyone faced the problem, can anyone please help to remove this runtime error.

How to install Web Page Composer

Hi ,

 

Look for a install procedure document for Web Page Composer . EP 7.0 NW 7.0 .

 

And all the compoments (in the landscpace) to use WPC and run it (Example: transport, etc, ..)

Custom Layout is not getting reflected in WPC

Hi Experts,

 

We have a requirement where we need a custom layout for WPC. We have followed http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-16314for creating custom WPC layout but some how the custom layout is not visible in WPC editor layout list.

Resource Bundle for KM Properties

Hi Friends

 

Im using SAP EP 7.4.

 

Following is the steps i followed to create text for custom property labels.

 

1. I have used the Resource bundle project to create .properties files to rename the label of the Custom properties in Search Iview.

2.Deployed the bundle.

3.Under KM->Content Management->Global Services

 

          I created MetatDataExtension with the bundle path.

          Also under property i created property with the metadataextension and the Key for Label.

 

But when i try to check the label in the Search iview it shows me the property ID.

 

Not sure if i have missed any step.

 

Kindly help me to display the property label from the Resource bundle project.

Error while indexing my document

Greeting All,

I want to index a file system rep (FSR) that I created in the portal server. This (FSR) has 6520 files. 6492 files were indexed successfully. However, 28 out of 6520 were failed to be indexed:

 

errored : 28  " Preparation Failed" with multiple Return code

             (14011     "Filter: The file is password protected or encrypted",

              14047     "Filter: Error writing to file",

              14961     "Filter: Access violation", 

              15612     "message not found",

              18096     "message not found")

 

It is not size issue; some of the indexed files are smaller and some are bigger than the errored files.

it is not permission issue, because some of the indexed files are password protected

and it is not the URL, I checked that and everything seems right; checked the generated URL for some of the error files, and I was able to get into them using that generated URL, especially 6492 files were indexed?

 

any help, or suggestion on how to fix these errors files.

Bex Portfolio control

hi,

 

Bex Portfolio is for publishing public documents or reports. But we would like to control the users to publish/open only the BI Reports which they are authorized to. for example, if a user has access to finance reports but not to supply chain reports, then he should not open supply chain reports(saved under Bex Portfolio) which supply chain users saved under Bex Portfolio.

LSO Portal Content Player error with WBT

We are trying to implement LSO 600 and receive the message below when trying to open a SCORM compliant course in the portal using the Portal Content Player.

 

We have restarted the app on the java server and still receive the message.

Create KM Repository service in portal 7.3

Hi experts,

 

When I try to create a Repository Service, after deployment and restart, I don't see the service in the Repository services.

I created a new portal application and used the wizard to create the service, even an empty service does not wrk for me.

 

I tried following this blog: http://scn.sap.com/people/damian.reyesdiaz/blog/2005/11/11/documents-hits-count-km-activity-reporting

but this did not help.

 

Could anybody provide me with the steps I need to create a repository service in portal 7.3?

How to display creation date for a WPC article?

Hi SCN!

 

 

I have created several articles with Web Page Composer, saving them into Global Shared Content repository, and finally displaying them in some pages.

I've modified XSL file to display them accordingly to customer requirements. So far, so good.

 

 

However, I don't have found until now how to display either the creation date or modification date for every article. Is there any way to get these data from article file itself? Some property perhaps?

 

 

I thought that it could be done by using some XSTL Helper, but no luck

400 Bad HTTP request

Hi Guys,

 

Need help here. This error occurs at random in the KM and also by randam content editors. They navigate into the "Explorer" of Content Management and follow the folder structure created for their content. Upon triggering to open a folder in teh structure, the content editors sometimes get the error message: "400 Bad HTTP request". This happens to afew of them so often, such that every clicks within the folder structures all ended in the same error.

 

At first I thought it could be a hardware issue, so I log on to the same hardware with my userID and I do not have any problems (no 400 error message). I even ask the user to try it on a different hardware and he does not get any error with a new hardware. However, after afew weeks, the 400 error occur again for the same users with new hardware.

 

Does anyone experience the same issue as me?
